They Said You Were Safe, is a look at why young leaders are leaving their posts prematurely. Through a nationwide survey, I asked these specific leaders tough questions and trends were uncovered that highlighted the need for greater support systems within our churches. This data was paired with research from various sources, personality testing and personal stories from respected leaders. It was heart breaking to hear how young pastors were treated and ultimately encouraged to leave the posts. The good news is, there is hope. There is hope that the next set of leaders will not experience what so many others did. We will have to work hard as leaders, but we can do it. The up and coming pastors that are coming onto the scene can dream again and more importantly see those dreams come true.
